Tribal Tique

Tribal Tique Signature Style Combos for Partners - Flashy and dynamic combos to use for duets! Great to choreograph into a routine or to add spice to improvisation.

About Tribal Tique:

Tribal Tique was formed in the summer of 2004 by co-directors Julia DiVerdi and Molly McClellan in an effort to further explore and create a new vision of American Tribal Style Belly Dance in Northern Colorado that they like to call ATTS, or "American Tribal Tique Style". Their unique style combines classic ATS posture, vocabulary, and improvisational cue dancing with polished technique and cutting edge fusion. With over 17 years combined belly dance experience as both performers and instructors, the partnership has flourished and firmly established Tribal Tique on the tribal belly dance circuit.

Workshop Description:

"UNMATA au naturel"

Tribal Sands - Featured 2007 Workshop

This multi-level workshop will outline two tribal fusion combinations emphasizing technique and isolation. The first combination will incorporate the building blocks of UNMATA's modern bellydance style. The second combination will focus primarily on the Hula Fusion nuance. Each movement will be outlined within a tribal cueing system so that it may be added to any troupe's choreography or tribal vocabulary. Amy will describe and drill each individual movement, then fasten them together into an accessible tribal combo that will be practiced in useful group and duet formations. This workshop will be fun, fast, and furious. UNMATA believes in beat-your-butt technical practice, so bring water and come prepared to sweat.

Kara Nomadica
Kara Nomadica

Kara Nomadica is a Middle-Eastern fusion band with a sound inspired by traditional Arabic and Turkish rhythms and maqamat (scales) as well as modern industrial/techno music. Its members have well over a century of combined musical experience. The members of Kara Nomadica play a vast array of traditional instruments, including oud, saz, darabuka, doumbek, riq, frame drum, dholla, davul, ney, and mizmar, and didjeridoo; all solidly anchored in the 21st century by the fretless bass guitar. These ancient, and not-so-ancient, instruments blend to give the band's original compositions a truly unique synergy, while breathing fresh life into their large repertoire of traditional songs from Turkey and the Arab world. Kara Nomadica's goal is to bring its exotic Middle-Eastern fusion sound to a broad spectrum of music lovers, while specifically focusing on supporting the grace and beauty of the international bellydance community. To this end, Kara Nomadica has recently been inspiring thousands of dancers and listeners at numerous bellydance shows, haflas, arts festivals, World Music and Dance showcases, and charity benefits throughout Northern Colorado, garnering rave reviews. The band is currently hard at work in the recording studio, with an EP available on May 26th at the Boulder Creek Festival, and a full-length LP to be released in the Fall of 2007.
